Minko proudly practices eco sustainable viticulture with an ethos of caring for the environment, our staff and our customers. We produce wines which are balanced and elegant, and which enhance the flavour of food.
All our wines are made solely from grapes grown at Minko – our family farm in Mount Compass (except for Friends, which also has grapes from our friends at Coriole). We currently grow Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Savagnin, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our philosophy is simple: grow excellent fruit in a healthy vineyard, pick the grapes at their best and minimise intervention in the growing and winemaking process. The objective is to let the quality of the grapes speak for itself.

At Minko, we love great food and great wines. But more than that, we love sharing it with our friends. This wine is a celebration of friendship: a blend of wine from two good friends.
The best of our estate grown Cabernet and Merlot have been perfectly balanced with some beautifully aged shiraz from our good friends at Coriole.
Bright fruit aromas of plums and blackberry are complimented by smoky and honeyed oak on the nose. The palate is a generous balance of dark fruits, earthy and gamey characters with a dusty tannin finish.
The cool maritime climate of Mt. Compass on the Fleurieu Peninsula and the glacial sands over limestone provide an ideal terroir for Pinot Noir. In 2014 however, the elements were against us: it was windy at flowering, we had a terrible fruit set, resulting in a yield of only half a tonne to the acre. The result? Premium quality fruit! Carefully tended and handpicked, followed by delicate wine making, this pinot noir is a very special wine indeed.
Lychee, cherry and a hint of autumn leaves on the nose, raspberry and plum on the palate with a touch of spice. A nicely balanced palate with good length and a soft tannin finish.
Enjoy with highly flavoured Mediterranean dishes such as pizza and pasta but also matches grilled meaty fish such as salmon & tuna and is perfect with roast duck.

A deep, dark red colour, this wine has aromas of eucalyptus, menthol, blackcurrant and spice. There’s sweet berry fruit with a touch of aniseed on the palate, that flows into a tight, robust and velvety finish. Beautifully integrated tannins that support the wine without being dominant.
The fruit for this Cabernet was estate grown on glacial sands over ironstone. The long ripening period produced fruit of outstanding quality. This wine will enhance rich meat dishes.
Pinot Noir 2013

Cherries, raspberries and autumn leaves fill the nose and overflow to the palate which is beautifully balanced with silky velvet tannins and a hint of potpourri.
The cool maritime climate of Mt. Compass on the Fleurieu Peninsula and the glacial sands over limestone provide an ideal terroir for Pinot Noir.
Carefully tended and handpicked, this Pinot Noir will go well with highly flavoured Mediterranean dishes such as pizza and pasta but also matches grilled meaty fish such as salmon & tuna and is perfect with roast duck.
This engaging wine will develop complexity with age. Good drinking between 2-8 years.
A complex nose showing berry fruits and spice, with a little vanilla creaminess. The palate is rich and smooth, with dark berry fruits and a layer of integrated oak.
This low yielding variety is ideal for the cool maritime climate of Mt.Compass which contributed to this soft velvety mouth feel of the Merlot.
The soft, fleshy nature of Merlot partners well with medium to heavy food dishes. Try some with a rich tomato pasta dish, roasted meats or Mediterranean vegetables, or even a creamy mushroom ristotto.
Aromas of blackcurrant and plum fruit intertwined with leafy, earthy tones and a hint of tobacco. The berry fruit palate shows integrated oak and finishes with lingering tannins and a touch of menthol.
This Cabernet goes well with rich meat dishes such as lamb chops marinated with rosemary or kangaroo fillets grilled rare.
The fruit for this Cabernet was estate grown on the Fleurieu Peninsula in a cool maritime climate perfect for developing complex Cabernet flavours. Will cellar well for 10 years. We suggest decantering before drinking.

Slightly diffuse colour; a fragrant bouquet and decisive palate, with a range of plum, cherry and delicate spice flavours; excellent length to a wine of breed and class.

Deep colour; a powerful and potent wine, with blackcurrant and black olive fruit ensconced in a framework of oak and tannins. A merlot built for the long haul.

Pinot Grigio 2017
Aromas of nashi pear and lychee with a hint of lemon and floral notes. The palate shows creamy citrus with a hint of pear.
Cool climate conditions during ripening are well suited for producing this savoury style of wine: dry, tangy and refreshing.
This wine will accompany most alfresco styled meals from seafood and poultry to pork and veal. It will suit the fresh flavours of Thai foods ideally or even a fresh tomato based Italian dish.
Toasty, oaky aromas combine with fig and fruit salad, creating a complex nose. The palate is toasty french oak combined with rockmelon and white peach.
The cool climate conditions during ripening produced grapes with intense flavour and acidity. The fruit was gently pressed then fermented in French oak for only 3 months, producing a style which is light and fresh, but can still enjoy some aging.
Well balanced and restrained, this wine will reward short term cellaring.
Enjoy with zesty salads, seafood and Asian dishes. Chill before serving.
Aromas of rose petals and strawberry with flavours of red berries and a hint of potpourri. A refreshing dry style rosé.
Cool climate conditions during ripening are well suited for producing this savoury style of wine made from 85% Pinot Norr and 15% Savagnin: dry, tangy and refreshing.
The savagnin brings fresh acidity to the palate, with strawberry and quince characters.
This crisp French style wine is a perfect summer aperitif and will acompany most alfresco styled meals from seafood and poultry to port and veal.

Rich ripe pear and apple over stone fruit blossom aromas dominate the nose. Orchard fruits, hints of stone fruit and cinnamon are the main features of the generous palate. Well balanced, with good acidity and a creamy mouth feel. Sweet enough to handle strong cheeses and moderate desserts.
The fruit for this wine was left on the vine to develop the intense fruit flavours for this luscious style of wine. Hand picked in April 2013.

Straw-coloured; a well above average grigio with vibrant pear, apple and a flash of pink grapefruit flavours, the finish long and compelling with its bright acidity.
Pale pink-grey; distinctly varietal nashi pear leads the fruit, with crackling/crunchy acidity on the long palate. Almost frightening intensity, simply great for spicy food.

Sparkling Trio 2015
Aromas of grapefruit, warm bread cooking and citrus blossom. The palate is dry, crisp and clean with lemon, lime, shortbread and a hint of honey.
This Blanc-de-blancs cuvee is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes selected from our premium cool climate vineyard at Mount Compass, and hand made using the traditional Champagne method of re-fermenting in the bottle where it has matured on lees for 2 years.
Sealed with a crown seal to retain quality.
Aromas of green apple, strawberries and lychee with a hint of honey and some yeasty notes. A tangy palate, with flavours of citrus, honey, lychee, and apples.
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris are well suited to the cool maritime climate of Mt. Compass and have been perfectly blended in this elegant, dry champagne style sparkling wine.
Black-fruit medley aromas with a beautifully integrated vanillin oak framework. A refreshing medium bodied palate dominated by blackcurrants and dark cherries. A luscious mouth feel with a clean finish, displaying velvety tannins.
Excellent as an aperitif or with a rich dessert, and a favourite with the Christmas ham or turkey. Serve chilled.
After maturing in French & American oak for 12 months the merlot undergoes secondary fermentation with the addition of yeast and sugar, producing this soft, generous sparkling wine with a velvet texture and a gorgeous, dark, ruby red colour.
This wine develops with age.
